E-books For Free!

Have you bought a brand new Kindle, Nook, or iPad and look to fill it up with some e-books?  Then you’re in luck.  There are sites online that offer free e-books that are totally legal to download.  Copyright laws expire 74 years after an authors’ death, so many classic books (including theology books) are floating on the web for free.

If you’d like to get started, here are some good sites to visit:

Gutenberg Project

Over 33,000 free e-books in fiction, politics, religion, and philosophy.  Can be downloaded to Kindles, iPads, or viewed on a computer.

Open Library

Over 1 million e-books that may be ‘borrowed’ and read instantly online or one a Internet-capable device.  Books that have not yet the copyright expiration may be read online but not downloaded.

 ManyBooks

29,000 free books on one site!  ManyBooks features a easy to navigate genre search to search e-books in many subjects.

A better way to save documents across devices

Are you tired of emailing yourself attachments of documents because you forgot to save it on a flashdrive?  Or your computer crashes and major class assignments disappear forever?  Well there is way to fix that.  Its called DropBox. 

What is DropBox and how does it work?  It’s a secure online repository that you can save documents on one computer and view them on another device, like your I-pad, smartphone, or laptop.  All you do is download the app on as many devices as you would like. and save the documents on DropBox (rather than the hard drive of the computer).  It’s free to download and provides 2GB of memory.  Want more information or are you ready to download?  Then go to:
